CAIRO: The second district of the Administrative Court prosecuted the dismissal of the case filed by lawyer Nabil Ghabreyal against the Supreme Council of Armed Forces and the minister of interior, in which he claimed first phase elections were invalid due to a religion checkbox on the candidates' lists. Ghabreyal had clarified in the case discrimination according to religion is illegal and contradicts the constitutional declaration, adding that the inclusion of a religion checkbox in the candidates' list violates the constitution's articles. He called for them to be repeated with modifications made to the lists, canceling the religion checkbox. He referred to the Administrative Court's injunction released in Mansoura ordering the Supreme Electoral Committee to cancel the religion checkbox. He pointed out that despite the injunction; candidates' lists in some districts still included the religion checkbox.
