ALEXANDRIA, Egypt: The Administrative Court in Alexandria established a legal concept saying that the Court of Cassation is responsible for reviewing cases filed by candidates in this week's People Assembly's elections in Alexandria's third district. One candidate filed a case against the election results for the third district that were announced by the head of Egypt's Supreme Electoral Committee, saying there were some violations. The candidate said he found stamped ballots outside polling stations in the district and proved this to the committee supervising the elections. The court clarified that, according to the provisions of Egypt's 2011 Constitutional Declaration, the Court of Cassation is responsible for reviewing cases of invalidity of polling results, and thus the Administrative Court is not responsible.
