CAIRO: The Supreme Egyptian Administrative Court today decided to invalidate the Supreme Electoral Committee decision to exclude political parties whose candidates do not meet a predetermined criteria for running in elections. Magdy al-Agaty, the deputy director of the State council, issued the ruling. “It is against the constitution to prevent party candidates from running simply because colleagues may not meet the criteria,” the Court ruled. The Court thus allowed the Egyptian Citizen Party's list in the Gharbia governorate to remain on the ballot.
