Portsmouth have completed the signing of England defender Sol Campbell on a free transfer, the Premiership side said on Tuesday. "Portsmouth Football Club are delighted to announce that Sol Campbell has signed a two-year contract with Pompey," read a statement carried by the club's official website. Campbell ended his five-year association with English giants Arsenal last month as he was seeking a new challenge. After joining Arsenal from rivals Tottenham in 2001, the 31-year-old defender scored 11 goals throughout his spell with Gunners, and won two Premiership titles as well as three FA Cup trophies Campbell is Portsmouth's third signing following the arrival of Chelsea full back Glen Johnson on loan and David Thompson on a free transfer.
