Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp said he is interested in signing England defender Sol Campbell if the 31-year-old parts ways with Arsenal. "I like Sol Campbell. I still think he's got an awful lot to offer as a player," Redknapp told Sky Sports Network. "His type of player would be good here, no doubts about that. I don't know what Sol's plans are, I've not had a chance to speak to him. Campbell surprisingly opted for a move out of Arsenal although his contract runs out in two seasons. He said he wanted a new challenge and hinted that he may play outside England. But Redknapp hopes Campbell will change his mind and join Portsmouth, adding more experience and class to the former West Ham manager's maturing side. "[Campbell's] a leader, he's a top centre half. You only have to look at the Champions League final against Barcelona and he was magnificent," Redknapp said. "He still would have an awful lot to offer in the next two, three or four years if he wants to play on, but it's his decision what he wants to do with his life - whether he wants to play abroad or play in England."
