Suez Canal Authority's head, Mohab Mamish announced that 40 ships weighing 2.3m tons crossed Tuesday through Suez Canal, Youm7 News reported. Mamish pointed out that 20 ships weighing 1.2m tons have crossed through the north of the canal, while 20 ships weighing 1.1m tons have crossed through the south. He added that the largest ship crossed the canal from the north of the canal was the Danish "MAYVIEW MAERSK" container ship coming from France, heading to Oman weighing 200,000 tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Panamanian "MSC OSCAR" container ship weighing 196,000 tons.
