We are celebrating with the Artist Hafez El Raie, for his magnificent art in his current exhibition at the age of 100 years old. It is a celebration of 75 years of creativity since his graduation in 1939 from Leonardo da Vinci Institute, at the same time a celebration for the beautiful art in his work. The Critic Ezz El Din Naguib focused the light on the Artist El Raie and on his artistic character, at Al-Helal Magazine, June edition, 2001, asking that how does few people only know about his folk like despite his creative fertility!
Then, a book named " Hafez El Raie and His Joyful Folk Life" released in a series of art memory.
Hafez El Raie belongs to a generation after the first pioneers in the art movement, the generation of the late thirteenth and the beginning of fourteenth and it is a generation that mostly didn't take their full right of recognition especially his colleagues in Leonardo da Vinci Institute and Faculty of Fine Arts. They are representing an extension of the first cohort of influential touch and after. As some had informed the cubism direction such as: Salah Yousri, Wadee Al Mahdy, Amin Rayan, Mahmoud Latif Neseim, Micheal Guirguis, Shaaban Zaki, Faek Abdullah and Youssef Rafat.
We are not celebrating for only a group of artworks for Hafez El Raie, the owner of great production, but also for the long age of different kind of arts in his stages of directions and prospects of new classics till the Influential, Expressionism and Surrealism Spirit in some of his artworks. All this by innate touch that does not know boredom and he converts the touch to geometric surfaces and cubical rhythm, from a vibrant scene and the movement of the Egyptian street to a silent nature and brightening flowers and roses and a few number of personal pictures.
We are saying to our Artist, happy birthday, and long life with more creativity.

ياتى اسم الفنان حافظ الراعى والذى نحتفى به وبفنه فى معرضه الحالى احتفاء واحتفالا ببلوغة المئة عام هذا الشهر ..وهو احتفال باكثر من 75 عاما من ابداع فناننا منذ تخرجه عام 1939 من معهد ليوناردو دافنشى وفى نفس الوقت احتفاء بمعنى الفن فى اعماله ..وقد كان للفنان الناقد عز الدين نجيب فضل القاء الضوء على شخصيته الفنية وعالمه بمجلة الهلال عدد يونيه عام 2001 وهو يتساءل كيف لاتعرف الحركة التشكيلية عنه فى بلادنا الاالقليل على الرغم من خصوبته الابداعية !!..وقد جاء كتاب
" حافظ الراعى وبهجة الحياة الشعبية " فى سلسلة " ذاكرة الفن التى يراس تحريرها بدعوة منه.. والذى كان لى شرف كتابته تكريما له فى عامه المئة .
وحافظ الراعى ينتمى لجيل مابعد الرواد الاوائل فى الحركة الفنية ..جيل اواخر الثلاثينيات وبداية الاربعينات وهو جيل فى اغلبه لم ياخذ حقه من التعريف خاصة زملائه فى الدراسة بين معهد ليوناردو دافنشى والقسم الحروالدراسة عموما بالفنون الجميلة وهم يمثلون امتدادا للرعيل الاول من حيث اللمسة التاثيرية وما بعد التاثيرية كما اكد البعض فى اعماله على الاتجاه التكعيبى ومن بينهم : صلاح يسرى ووديع المهدى وامين ريان ومحمود لطيف نسيم وميشيل جرجس وشعبان زكى وفائق عبد الله ويوسف رافت .
ونحن اذ نحتفى بنخبة من اعمال حافظ الراعى صاحب الانتاج الغزير انما نحتفى بعمرمديد من الفن تنوع فى مراحل بلمسته فى اتجاهات وافاق من الكلاسيكية الجديدة الى التاثيرية ومابعد التاثيرية والى التعبيرية والتعبيرية الرمزية و الروح السريالية فى بعض الاعمال وكل هذا بلمسة فطرية لاتعرف الملل وقد يختزل اللمسة فتتحول الى مسطحات هندسية وايقاع تكعيبى .. من حيوية المنظروحركة الشارع المصرى الى الطبيعة الصامتة واشراق الزهور والورود ..وقلة قليلة من الصور الشخصية .
