Egyptian translator and narrator, Shab Mohamed Abdel Naby, is translating the novel “Anatomy of a Disappearance” by Libyan writer, Hesham Mater. “Anatomy of a Disappearance” is a story of little boy living in an Arab country. His father was abducted by authorities because he opposed them. The boy could not find his father since. Mater has written another novel similar to this of a story of a boy whose father was tortured by authorities. However the ending of the story is different. Both novels are narrated through the young boys' perspective and both tell the experience of a father's absence, which the author himself suffered because his diplomat father was detained by Libyan authorities. The translator Mohamed Abdel Naby previously translated a group of books in New Culture magazine and composed a collection of short stories called, "The ghost of Anton Chekhov.”
