SHEBIN EL KOM, Egypt, Sept 19 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Wednesday that any negligence will be subject to law. During the inauguration of the Military Hospital in Shebin el Kom, Menufia governorate, and a number of other development projects via video-conference, the president said "we need funding to confront challenges in the medical field." He was commenting on the Deireb Negm Hospital incident. "We would like to assure the Egyptian people, concerning the Deireb Negm incident in which three kidney dialysis patients died and around twelve others fainted after their sessions, that we do not neglect anything and we are in constant contact with the Health Ministry to follow up the situation and make sure that those responsible for any act of negligence will be punished according to the law," the president said. To err is human and mistakes can happen in any workplace but it is necessary to take measures and be cautious to avoid mistakes caused by negligence, the president said, calling on officials at hospitals in all governorates to constantly check everything. "Officials in hospitals know every tiny detail in their work and know very well that any error can be fatal," the president stressed. The president added that this does not apply to hospitals alone but to schools as well. Municipality officials should check on power connectors and other utilities at schools to ensure safety of students.
