CAIRO, June 24 , 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla will take part in the 27th session of the 2018 World Gas Conference (WGC), to kick off in Washington on Monday. The participation comes in response to an invitation by WGC head David Carrol. As part of the conference activities, Molla will participate Monday in the Senior Officials Programme which discusses geopolitical factors of natural gas. Egypt is keen to take part in all international and regional conferences and forums that address natural gas to benefit from major gas-producing states' experiments in addressing challenges of this industry, Molla said in a statement. The WGC is one of the major world conferences concerned with the latest developments of the gas industry, he added. The conference will address the most timely technical, commercial and strategic issues as well as promising fields of the gas industry. The conference convenes once every three years, he added. The conference is a good chance to hold talks with US officials on fostering cooperation as regards turning Egypt into a regional energy hub, Molla said. More than 600 senior officials operating in the gas and petroleum domains are taking part in the conference in addition to heads of major companies like BP, Shell, Chevron, Total and Exxon Mobil.
