Attijariwafa Bank Egypt participated in four securitisation bond offerings worth EGP 700m in the last quarter (4Q) of 2021, according to a statement released by the bank last week.
The bank participated as a coverage guarantor with a value of EGP 200m in favour of the Hermes Financial Group, which amounted to EGP 790m.
It also participated as a guarantor in the first process of issuing securitisation bonds for Global Corp with a total amount of EGP 985m, in which the bank's share was EGP 200m.
Additionally, the bank acted as a guarantor for an amount of EGP 95.7m in the first issuance for Tamweel Finance with a volume of EGP 460m.
Furthermore, the bank participated in the 11th bond issuance in favour of CorpLease at an amount of EGP 150m, bringing the total value up to EGP 2.35bn.
Marwa Nabil, the head of the Public Sector Corporate Finance and Structured Loans Sector at Attijariwafa Bank Egypt, said that the success of these operations came as a result of a fruitful cooperation with alliedbanks — namely Misr Capital, EFG Hermes, and the CIB — and clients from non-banking financial institutions.
She also confirmed that the bank is intensifying its efforts in the bond market sector, which reflects its strategy to provide diverse sources of funding and its awareness of the importance of this sector due to the remarkable demand for securitisation bonds throughout the year.
