EgyptAir launches first flights between Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor after a 6-year hiatus
This trip will continue to operate once a week at EGP 1,800 unified roundtrip ticket price
Published in Daily News Egypt on 27 - 10 - 2021

The national company EgyptAir flight No. MS 202 took off from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, heading to Luxor International Airport, on Wednesday morning, marking its first flight, after a 6-year hiatus.
This trip will continue to operate once a week at a unified ticket price of EGP 1,800 for a roundtrip, including taxes.
The operation of this line came within the framework of the Egyptian state's efforts to provide an integrated tourism product, merging beach and leisure tourism with cultural tourism. Accordingly, tourists can visit more than one destination while in Egypt, thus enriching their tourism experience, by linking the Nile Valley cities with the coastal tourist cities, through domestic flight routes linking all tourist governorates.
The plane took off at 7:00 am from Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport, carrying 110 tourists and Egyptians onboard.
It returned again on Wednesday evening to Sharm El-Sheikh, in line with the tourist programs, giving them the opportunity to enjoy visiting museums and archaeological sites in Luxor, in addition to giving them a greater opportunity to tour the city.
It is worth mentioning that the operation of this flight route was agreed upon during the meeting held between Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation, several days ago to discuss a number of issues that contribute to the tourism promotion of Egypt.
This is the first time that this flight route has been operated since December 2015. This route was operated at the request of the private tourism sector, the Egyptian Tourism Federation and the Egyptian Travel Agents Association (ETTA).
It is worth noting that the Minister of Civil Aviation was keen to provide reduced prices for incoming flights to various tourist destinations, at a price of EGP 2,150 to Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Taba, and EGP 2,450 to Marsa Alam and Aswan.
