Egypt's Minister of Culture Ines Abdel Dayem witnessed, on Friday, several cultural shows in the framework of Baladna's summer event which aims to promote the country's cultural and artistic heritage.
The event was organized by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, headed by Hisham Atwa, in a number of coastal governorates.
At the Anfushi Culture Palace, the Minister witnessed a performance by Assiut and Port Said folklore troupes, during which she hailed the large turnout in the event.
Abdel Dayem noted that the event coincided with the ongoing summer holidays when millions of citizens head to coastal governorates.
She pointed out that artistic creativity is an effective way to promote positive values in the society and preserve the Egyptian folklore, which is characterized by its diversity and richness.
For his part, Atwa said that the Baladna's summer activities include four coastal governorates. He added that the folklore show was performed at the Shatby, Mostafa Kamel, and Anfushi culture palaces in Alexandria; Ras El Bar and Gamasa in Daqahleya; Baltim in Kafr El Sheikh; and New Damietta. The Baladna summer events will also go to Matrouh governorate.
Atwa pointed out that the event was held in parallel with the General Authority for Culture Palaces' activities within the countryside development initiative, Decent Life, in Assiut and nine other governorates.
