5 wrestlers who may succeed iconic Undertaker
Published in Daily News Egypt on 22 - 03 - 2018

They say that everything will come to an end, and if that's true, then the iconic wrestler the Undertaker's days may be numbered in the wrestling arena, despite his expected participation in WrestleMania, an annual professional wrestling event held from mid-March to early April.
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc (WWE), an American sports entertainment and integrated media company, has had many wrestlers over the years who have taken to imitating the Undertaker. Many of them have done so in the name of flirting and others wanted to show their skills and prove themselves in the ring.
Daily News Egypt sheds light on some wrestlers who have been described as the "New Undertaker".
Ricky Banderas
Gilbert Cosme is a Puerto Rican professional wrestler, better known by his ring names El Mesías, Mil Muertes, and Ricky Banderas. He may not be very famous among wrestling fans around the world, but his reputation emerged as a disguised wrestler under the name Mil Muertes in the Lucha Underground Championship.
While working in Mexico, Cosme signed a contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which is now Impact Wrestling, where he debuted as Judas Mesias in September 2007. However, in March 2008, his association with TNA came to an end.
Abyss
Christopher Joseph Parks, better known by his ring name Abyss, is an American professional wrestler currently signed with Impact Wrestling as a wrestler and also a member of the creative team. Parks' style and mask is more like the wrestler Kane than the Undertaker. In TNA, he appeared under the name the Abyss Monster.
Then, Parks appeared in the Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South (IWA). The Abyss character was given to him by James Mitchell, an American professional wrestling manager.
Two years after joining TNA, the association began to benefit from his reputation to form a team with Ricky Banderas, similar to the Brothers of Destruction team, Undertaker and Kane.
After winning the TNA World Title twice, the WWE offered him the chance to face the Undertaker in WrestleMania, but Abyss rejected the offer.
Mordecai
Kevin Matthew Fertig is an American professional wrestler. He is best known for working with WWE under the ring names Mordecai and Kevin Thorn. He had a similar style to the Undertaker and the WWE quickly added him to their Smack Down roster, where he played only three games during a month.
The WWE management prepared a confrontation between the Undertaker and Thorn but abandoned that plan on the grounds that he needed more training.
Afterwards, Thorn wore a mask and this move was the final nail in the coffin of Thorn's relationship with WWE. He left the company in 2005.
He returned to play with the Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and appeared as a vampire, and then returned to WWE before being sent off in 2009.
Bray Wyatt
Windham Lawrence Rotunda is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs for the Raw brand under the ring name Bray Wyatt. He has a mysterious persona in the wrestling ring, making him the best wrestler to succeed the Undertaker. They faced each other at WrestleMania 31, where the Undertaker managed to win.
Finn Bálor
Fergal Devitt is an Irish professional wrestler signed to WWE, where he performs for the Raw brand under the ring name Finn Bálor. He was described as the successor of the Undertaker, perhaps due to his ring character of the devil.
WWE gave Finn a very strong push to win his first WWE title. Bálor became the first wrestler in WWE history to win a world title in their pay-per-view debut, as well as becoming the quickest wrestler in WWE history to win a world title, at 27 days.
However, he relinquished the championship a day later due to suffering a shoulder injury during the match.
Many say that there will be no other Undertaker. Loyal audiences believe this wrestler will not be replaced by any other wrestler. Wrestling fans may not accept any successor to this iconic character, even if the substitute has great talent.
