Tamarod spokesperson Mahmoud Badr has welcomed Monday's statement by the Egyptian armed forces, which leaves open the possibility that the military could seize control of power within the next 48 hours “The army responding to the demands of the people crowns our movement,” he said, adding that Tamarod has embodied the will of the Egyptian people to demand early presidential elections. In a statement Monday, Badr also said the movement is in no political dispute with anyone. “The army statement said our youth are the best in Egypt,” he said, calling for people to continue demonstrating until all demands are achieved, a year of perceived fascism by the Muslim Brotherhood is ended and the revolution is put back on track. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, a campaign leader, added: “[President Mohamed] Morsy is no longer a president, we call on the masses to take to the streets and besiege [the] Qubba and Ettihadiya [presidential] palaces at 5 pm Tuesday.” Abdel Aziz said that Tamarod will read out a statement at Qubba Presidential Palace at 7:30 pm Tuesday. “We have devised a scenario to run the country by handing power to the president of the Supreme Constitutional Court, National Security Council, as well as the formation of a technocratic government during the upcoming period,” Abdel Aziz said. Rifaat al-Saeed of the Tagammu Party meanwhile claimed the army statement is an alarm for the Brotherhood's Guidance Bureau to commit to the demands of the people, which the army stood by. “If the bureau does not commit, the army will put down a roadmap binding for all,” he said.
