Patriarch of Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros II will conduct a visit to Armenia next week to participate in the 100th memory of Turkish massacre against Armenians during the Ottoman rule, El Watan Newspaper reported on Thursday. The announcement comes days after the recent statement delivered by Vatican Pope Francis to condemn the mass killing committed against the Armenians a century ago, describing it as genocide. Francis' statements raised the Turkish outrage, prompting the government to withdraw its ambassador to Vatican. Tawadros' visit to Armenia is scheduled to continue for a week. The Coptic top cleric will accompany a delegation of bishops during the visit.
