Jordanian authorities decided Wednesday to temporarily close the Jaber border crossing with Syria, following clashes that broke out on the Syrian side, Sky News Arabia reported. Jordanian Interior minister, Hussein Al Magaly, stated that closing the crossing was a protective measure to secure the safety of passengers and goods. Earlier Wednesday, clashes broke out between militants and the Syrian army in areas around the border, south of Daraa Governorate, south Syria. The border is the last secured link between Syria and Jordan, after Al Nusra Front dominated the other border October 2013.
