The Research and Creativity Convention will also include experts and presenters from academia to discuss their latest findings in various disciplines such as design, economics, management, sustainability education, migration and refugee studies, cinematography, and community psychology. The event aims to celebrate faculty, graduate and undergraduate research as well as creative achievements in all fields at AUC.

French Cultural Institute Madrasset Al-Huquq Al Frinseya St, Mounira, Tel 02 2791 5800 The Eighth Mediterranean Writing Festival (7-11 April) Thurs 11, 6pm: For the first time, the literary meetings of the festival are held in Cairo. The evening will include two round table discussions, the first on the developments of the Egyptian book in France and the second on the latest in the French literature in France. The first discussion features Egyptian novelists Mohamed Rabie and Mohamed Abdel-Nabi, Sindbad/ Actes Sud Publisher Farouk Mardam-Bey, translators Stephanie Dujols and Gilles Gauthier. The second discussion introduces Valerie Manteau, author of Le Sillon novel, Alexi Jenni, winner of Goncourt prize 2011, and La Belle de Casa's author Jean Bofane. The dialogue will be moderated by Dalia Shams, journalist of Al-Ahram Hebdo and Al-Shorouk newspapers, and David Ruffel, director of the book department at the French Institute in Egypt. Libraries will also be available to sell Arabic and French novels to the authors of the discussion (the discussion is in French and Arabic with simultaneous interpreting).
