Maqassa ended their winless streak in their last match under outgoing manager Mohamed Abdel-Galil after claiming a 1-0 victory over fellow struggling side Wadi Degla on Tuesday. Mohamed Farouk scored what proved to be the winner in the 49th minute as Maqassa recovered from a poor start that saw them lose two and draw once in their first three matches. They now lie third from bottom in Group A with four points from four games. Abdel-Galil will now make way for Egypt's icon Hossam Hassan, who will take over at the club until the end of the season.
