Nigeria coach praises players' performance in Rwanda win Nigeria coach is happy his team qualified for CAN 2013, saying they will celebrate the quick victory over Rwanda
Nigeria national team coach Stephen Keshi expressed his team's excitement at having defeated Rwanda 2-0 in the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday. "The most important thing is that we won the match and the team has qualified for the next stage of the tournament," Keshi told the post game press conference. The Super Eagles dominated their opponents Rwanda throughout the game as they edged to score an early goal when striker Ikechukwu Uche found the net only 9 minutes after the match began, then forward Ahmed Musa doubled the score in the 56th minute. "We will enjoy the victory, celebrate our qualification and begin to think of working on the mistakes," he added. Rwanda tactician Milutin Sredojevic explained their loss to Nigeria was due to less experienced players, considering they had five under-20 players in Saturday's squad. "We were supposed to connect chances, but, unfortunately, we did not" Sredojevic said. "We will rebuild the team and look forward to future tournaments, as we came with a crop of players who could not withstand the pressure of a team like Nigeria." "We played a very courageous game against the Super Eagles; a good, tough team," Rwanda coach concluded.
