Egypt reported 412 new coronavirus cases on Thursday bringing the total infection tally officially to 279,596 since the outbreak began in February 2020. The health ministry also reported 29 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 16,031. The statement said that 765 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 208,957. Egypt has recently updated the anti-coronavirus safety measures for all arrivals from abroad. Though all passengers travelling to Egypt from anywhere should provide a negative PCR test performed 72 hours before departure, but based on the new measures, vaccination certificates could be provided instead of the nasal swab test.
