Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday extended his condolences to the Iraqi president and premier over a deadly fire in a Baghdad hospital that claimed the lives of at least 82 people last night. The fire broke out in the intensive care unit treating coronavirus patients of the Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital in the Iraqi capital, injuring 110 people. The fire was reportedly caused by an oxygen tank explosion. In his phone calls with President Barham Salih and Prime Minister Mostafa Al-Kadhimi, El-Sisi wished the injured Iraqis a speedy recovery, a presidential statement read. El-Sisi also "prayed for God Almighty to grant his generous mercy upon the victims and keep them in his spacious gardens and grant their families patience and solace."
