Egypt winger Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan appeared to play down the significance of Egypt's prgoress to the last 16 at the African Cup of Nations, saying his side firmly have their eyes set on the title. The winger, who plays for Kasimpasa in Turkey, produced a man-of-the-match performance to help hosts Egypt beat DR Congo 2-0 on Wednesday to top the group with six points, two ahead of second-placed Uganda who were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe earlier in the day. Trezeguet, who also scored the winner in the opening 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe, created the second goal two minutes before the break after a superb individual effort, skipping past a challenger in his own half and running half the length of the pitch before slipping the ball to Mohamed Salah, who made no mistake with a composed finish from inside the area. Asked if the Pharaohs are ready to beat Uganda to keep their place on top of the group, Trezeguet said that Egypt's target is to win the Nations Cup title, not to qualify for the second round as a group leaders. He also said Egypt would improve in the upcoming matches after producing another below-par display. "We are taking the tournament step by step ... but we can now look to the future," he told beIN Sports after the match. Egypt will end their group stage campaign with a game against Uganda on Sunday.
