Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly met with the agent of Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah to discuss the transfer of the Pharaohs star to the La Liga giants in the summer transfer window. According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol on Friday, Real hope they can sign the Egyptian international to enforce the team's frontline after a disastrous first half of the season. Real, who almost lost hopes for the league title, currently lie fourth on the table with 32 points, 19 behind leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona. After his outstanding performances with the Premier League side this season, Salah was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, especially after the confirmation of the Spanish club's interest by Egypt coach Hector Cuper in December. Dario Gol's report said that Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa recently held a meeting with Florentino at the Santiago Bernabéu to bring the deal closer, but starting from next summer. The Spanish side preferred to settle the details with the player before sitting down to negotiate with English team officials, especially because they know that negotiations will not be easy. The report added that Real want to pay between 70 and 80 million euros for Salah, but Liverpool are expected to demand more for their Egyptian star, especially after the recent sale of Brazilian Phillippe Coutinho to Barcelona for 160 million euros. The former Chelsea and Fiorentina player Salah has been a revelation since joining Liverpool from AS Roma last summer for €42 million, scoring 24 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions. The 25-year-old is second in the Premier League top scorers' chart with 18 goals, two behind Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. Salah was voted as Africa's best player by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) earlier this month.
