BERN, Switzerland: An Egyptian judiciary delegate in Bern met Swiss officials to discuss the stolen Egyptian assets frozen in Switzerland. They reviewed the progress of this matter and the ways of strengthening cooperation between Switzerland and Egypt concerning working effectively on returning the money, stolen by officials of Egypt's formerly ruling regime. A statement released by the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs today said that both sides expressed their full commitment concerning continuing the necessary legal measures. Moreover, they expressed their satisfaction concerning the constructive and open talks. They agreed to continue the discussion through follow-up meetings that will be organized regularly. The next meeting is expected to be held next January. The ministry said immediately after former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's resignation, the Swiss Federal Council froze the money of officials who were close to Mubarak's regime, which amounted to 410 million Swiss francs. It added that Egypt proposed many requests calling for the Swiss judiciary's help and that Swiss authorities are studying those requests now.
