Zamalek have re-signed defender Hani Saied on loan from MCDR less than one month after he left the club, as striker Hussein Hamdi joined in. Zamalek board member Amr Al-Ganaini confirmed to FilGoal.com that both players have signed for the club on Thursday in a deal involving the transfer of Ashour Al-Adham in the opposite direction. Egypt international Saied left Zamalek last month after his contract had expired, only for new manager Hassan Shehata to request re-signing him. In addition to Al-Adham, MCDR are believed to have received EGP 5million for the services of new recruit Saied and top marksman Hamdi.
Hamdi, who scored eight goals for the over-achieving MCDR last term, was also on the shortlist of Ahli but the league champions relinquished their interest after signing Al-Sayed Hamdi and Fabio Junior. “I owe Hassan Shehata because he played a vital role in my move. By making this step I have achieved the dream of my life and I hope to impress the fans,” the 26-year-old said. “I've always loved the white shirt and all members of my family support Zamalek.” Hamdi was at the center of a controversial case last season when he inexplicably handled the ball inside the six-yard box in MCDR's 1-0 over Zamalek, but referee Yasser Mahmoud failed to spot the error. The towering striker was sent off minutes later for punching Hassan Mostafa in an off-the-ball incident.
