MCDR signed Zamalek's out-of-contract midfielder Hani Saied on a three-year deal. The 31-year-old international, who can also play as a sweeper, wasn't a regular starter with Zamalek during Hossam Hassan's 18 months at the helm. Zamalek said they wanted to hold on Saied, but he wasn't offered a new contract. Football director Walid Howeady said that Saied will be a big addition to his team in their second campaign in the Premier League.
Al-Hadari Howeady revealed also that MCDR are interested in signing international keeper Essam Al-Hadari and Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan. Al-Hadari, 38, currently plays for Sudanese side Merreikh but has submitted a transfer request. Veteran midfielder Hassan, who turned 36 last February, is a free agent after his contract with Ahli ran out by the end of the season. He is targeted by Zamalek, ENPPI, as well as Qatari clubs.
