Hamdi brace sinks Ittihad
Published in FilGoal on 07 - 08 - 2009

Al-Sayed Hamdi scored twice as Petrojet came from behind to beat Ittihad 3-1 at home in their Egyptian Premier League opener on Friday.
Striker Mohamed Al-Morsi, who joined Ittihad from Zamalek on a season-long loan, scored his first goal for the club to give them the lead after eight minutes.
He capitalized on some slack marking to control a long ball with his head inside the area before sending a superb half-volley past keeper Ahmed Fawzi.
Petrojet's makeshift defense was given torrid time by the dynamic Al-Morsi during the first half.
However, Ittihad's defensive lapses did not allow the Alexandria-based club to keep their lead intact.
Petrojet Striker Hamdi leveled the score on 26 minutes when he latched onto Alaa Ibrahim's flick, superbly tricked his marker Ahmed Bakri and drilled home from inside the area.
He put the hosts ahead just two minutes later when he caught Ittihad's newly-signed defender Shadi Mohamed napping to convert a low cross.
Ivorian striker Eric Bekoe wrapped up Petrojet's win three minutes from time, slotting into an empty net after Ittihad keeper Al-Hani Soliman failed to handle a cross.
Elsewhere, newly-promoted side Gouna held Asyut Petroleum to a 1-1 draw.
Gouna broke the deadlock on 71 minutes, thanks to a goal from Ahmed Omran but Asyut's Fathi Mabrouk secured a share of spoils one minute later.
