Two goals from Cameroonian duo Edet Otobong and Marc Mboua helped Ittihad Alexandria beat Gouna 2-0 on Friday for their first Egyptian Premier League win this season. Striker Otobong, who joined Ittihad in the close season after ending a spell at Syria's Ittihad, opened the scoring in the 35th minute after rounding off a counter attack to notch his second goal in five games. His compatriot Mboua, who also arrived in the summer, wrapped up the victory on the hour mark. The win will ease pressure on beleaguered coach Carlos Cabral, under whom Ittihad made a poor start to their league campaign. The Alexandria-based club lost once and drew three times in their first four games. Matters went from bad to worse when Ittihad players boycotted a training session in protest at the club's failure to pay them their wages. "The three points we claimed today are valuable," Ittihad assistant coach Karam Morsi said after the game. "I'm very happy because the win will alleviate the problems we are suffering from." Ittihad moved into ninth spot with six points while Gouna, who held Zamalek to a 1-1 draw in their previous match, remain 12th on four points. Elsewhere, Petrojet and Police Union, who both made fine starts to their season, shared spoils in a 1-1 draw later in the day. Defender Ahmed Duiedar converted a penalty after 14 minutes to put Police ahead but Petrojet forward Al-Sayed Hamdi leveled the score three minutes after the restart. Third-placed Petrojet have 10 points from six games, one ahead of Police who have a game in hand.
