Petrojet missed out on the chance of going level with league leaders Ahli after being held to a 1-1 draw by Egyptian Cup winners Harras Hodoud on Thursday. A superbly-taken goal by striker Al-Sayed Hamdi put Petrojet ahead just before the halftime whistle. He controlled the ball with his back to goal before turning and hitting a powerful shot that found its way into the top corner. Hodoud, who won the first trophy in their history after defeating ENPPI in the cup final on Sunday, restored parity six minutes after the restart. Ahmed Mekki curled his free-kick over the wall and into the net past Petrojet keeper Ahmed Fawzi. Ivorian striker Eric Bekoe almost restored Petrojet's lead on the hour mark but he was unlucky to see his fierce drive strike the woodwork. Petrojet, who were held to their third successive 1-1 draw, remained second in the league table with 31 points, two adrift of leaders and defending champions Ahli, who have a game in hand. Hodoud, who chase a place in the CAF Champions League, lie fifth on 24 points. Elsewhere, a Mohsen Hendawi hat-trick led Gaish to a 3-2 victory over Arab Contractors. Hendawi, who joined from Ghazl Mahalla on loan until the end of the season, produced another brilliant display after excelling in Gaish's 2-2 draw with Ahli last week. He scored three goals from set-pieces to help Gaish move into tenth place on 19 points, one ahead of Contractors. Watch Hodoud V Petrojet goals
