Arsenal were convincingly beaten 2-1 by Stoke City in the Premiership game played at The Britannia on Saturday. Potters' goals came from Ricardo Fuller (11) and Seyi Olofinjana (73), while a deflected Gael Clichy free-kick on 90 minutes couldn't help Arsenal get back in the game. The home side started brightly and as early as the eleventh minute they were in front after Fuller beat Kolo Toure to Rory Delap's long throw. Arsenal never looked like getting into the game, and Stoke capitalized on their visitors' poor showing when Olofinjana chested Ryan Showcross's cross.
Things got worse for the Gunners after Theo Walcott was stretched off the pitch and Robin Van Persie received his marching orders for an off the ball incident with Thomas Sorensen. Just before the final whistle, Clichy was lucky enough to see his free-kick get deflected twice to find its way past Sorensen. While Arsenal stay fourth on 20 points, the win moves Stoke to 12th with 13 points.
