Bareyn Munich striker Lukas Podolski looks set to leave the Bavarian giants in January's transfer window, club coach Jurgen Klinsmann said on Friday. Since his arrival from FC Koln in 2006, Poldi has been struggling for a place in Bayern's attack playing in the shadow of Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni. "Podolski has to compete with two giant strikers and he has yet to demonstrate that he is better than them,” Klinsmann was quoted as saying by Marca. “To become a great player, like those two strikers, is a long process that requires time. And in Podolski case, we are talking about months, even years." The German international has made no secret of his frustration with life at Bayern, recently stating that signing for the club was a big mistake. “It is an unpleasant situation for Lukas because he will never be happy being a substitute,” Klinsmann explained. Podolski's intention to leave Bayern has attracted a lot of attention, with both Fiorentina and AS Roma showing an interest in signing the player in the January.
