Paolo Guerrero (5) and Nigel De Jong (57) gave the home side a comfortable lead before Sotirios Kyrgiakos pulled one back for Eintracht (70). Hamburg found their scoring ways nine minutes later through Guerrero and Zidan completed the rout with a powerful strike from out of the box (83). Hamburg moved up to the third spot with 41 points six behind leaders Bayern Munich. The win boosted their chances of clinching a Champions League spot at the end of the season especially after Bayer Leverkusen (38 points) stunning defeat 2-0 at Bochum.
