Kaka has been named Italy's player of the year in 2007, by the Italian players' association, beating Inter Milan Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and AS Roma captain Francesco Totti. The Brazilian ace won the Best player and foreign player awards in the Italian Oscars. The 25-year old playmaker had a splendid season as he helped AC Milan winning the Champions League title scoring 10 goals. He was also instrumental in the Rossoneri's World Club Cup successful campaign. AS Roma Luciano Spalletti won the best coach prize after winning the Italian Cup while Totti was named best Italian player. Inter Milan Marco Materazzi beat Philippe Mexes (AS Roma) and Alessandro Nesta (AC Milan) to the best defender award.
