Bayern Munich chairman Franz Beckenbauer is delighted Jurgen Klinsmann will take over at the club in the summer. The former Germany coach is set to replace Ottmar Hitzfeld, who expressed his desire not to renew his contract with the Bavarian giants. "The appointment of Klinsmann is clever and bold," Beckenbauer told the club's official website. "He introduced modern training methods with new techniques that have been copied since by many coaches." In his first managerial experience, Klinsmann steered Germany to a third-place finish in the 2006 World Cup on home soil. "I'm very much looking forward to continuing the work I began with the national side," the former Bayern and Tottenham Hotspur man said.
