Milan president Berlusconi says he predicted Inzaghi double
Published in FilGoal on 24 - 05 - 2007

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi said he predicted Filippo Inzaghi would score a double against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final.
"On the eve of the match I told Inzaghi he would score a double and this is what happened," Berlusconi was quoted as saying by Sky Sports after the 2-1 victory.
The Italian politician's prophecy materialized as 'Pippo' scored the brace that handed Milan the hard-fought title.
Inzaghi opened the score just before the stroke of halftime when he deflected Andrea Pirlo's free-kick into Liverpool's net.
"It was something that we rehearsed in training," said the 33-year-old striker. "I scored with it against Empoli. Sometimes it just comes off."
While Inzaghi's first goal was deliberate or not, there is no doubt about the class he showed in firing home Milan's winner after being set up by Kaka.
"The first goal opened up the game but the second was certainly better.

"It's a feeling of great joy. There aren't words to describe it...I feel like it's all a dream," said Inzaghi who now has two Champions League winners medals under his belt.
Fellow veteran and team captain Paolo Maldini was also jubilant about his fifth European cup.
"It's the fifth victory for me, and still very beautiful," said Maldini.
The 39-year-old defender said that he has no intention of hanging his boots, even though the idea of ending his career with such an honor is very tempting.
"It would be a great way end to my career but I want to play next season and then it would be very beautiful to reach this point again next year and win it again."
Even Clarence Seedorf, who is the only player to win the Champions League with three different clubs, was excited about winning his fourth European trophy.
"I'm so proud to be part of this team, we worked very hard this year. It was a very hard year but at the end hard work makes it happen," said the Dutchman. "We deserved to win. It's a great feeling to have the fourth cup behind my name."
