AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti hailed the heroics of striker Filippo Inzaghi who scored a crucial double in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over Lyon in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. "Inzaghi has the experience for games like this -- he is always ready from the first until the last minute," Ancelotti a press conference after the game. Milan were on the verge of elimination after Inzaghi's opening goal for Milan was cancelled out by Mahamadou Diarra in the first-half. But 'Pippo' and strike partner Andriy Shevchenko struck a late double to hand the Rossoneri their semi-final berth. "We have the kind of quality in our attack that can pull something out for us even when things aren't going so well," Ancelotti added.
Carlo Ancelotti Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, who stormed the field after the team's victory, agreed with Ancelotti. "Inzaghi is a great player as is Shevchenko," Galliani was quoted as saying by Milan's website. "Without them we wouldn't be at the top in Europe. We are fortunate to have players like these," he added. Inzaghi himself was ecstatic about the victory, saying: “It was just a magical night, I can't believe it!” “I'm going to enjoy it now and I think I've earned the right to celebrate," he added.
