The result meant that Egypt remained rooted in last place in their Group A with 5 points, trailing Argentina and Puerto Rico on scoring ratio. However, the Egyptians' chances in making the second round remain very well arrive. The Pharaohs could book their place if they beat Argentina in their last group match and advance if Puerto Rico lose against third placed China on Wednesday. In other Group A matches, Poland crushed Puerto Rico 3-0 while Japan beat Argentina 3-1.
