Ahli Club-Ahmed Maher: Egyptian champions Ahli have unveiled their new signings for the next season in a press conference held at the club's headquarters on Sunday. Ahli signed duo Mohamed Sedik and Tarek Al-Saied from arch-rivals Zamalek on a free transfer and acquired the services of Asyut Cement's Ahmed Sedik. "The decision to sign the trio was purely technical and according to the team's needs," Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri told reporters. "Their arrival will strengthen our squad for next season," he added.
Al-Badri also refuted media reports claiming that Ahli sign players to cause frenzy within the ranks of opponents. Meanwhile, Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi revealed the reasons behind the late announcement of the new signings. "It was out of respect to their former clubs that we delayed the unveiling of our new players, especially in the case of Zamalek whom we had to face in the Egyptian Cup final," he said. On the other hand, Al-Saied said he is confident of hitting top form with Ahli, while stating he is not concerned with the prospect of being a substitute. "It's up to the coaching staff to decide whether I play or not which is fine by me," he said.
