Egypt slipped two places in FIFA's monthly ranking for national teams to become 38th. Despite failing to make it to the World Cup, the Pharaohs remained in the top 40, surpassing finalists and continental rivals Cameroon (54). Ivory Coast, Algeria, Nigeria and Ghana are the top four African nations in the table. Egypt's next competitive game takes place against Senegal in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.
