Egypt's Minister of Electricity Hassan Younis has urged citizens to cut power consumption as this country of 80 million is sweltering in a heat wave, which has forced many people to stay indoors. The official said the current heat wave had sent electricity use soaring. Meterologists say that the heat wave, which peaked on Monday, will start easing Tuesday. Meanwhile, market observers have reported a high increase in the demand for vegetable and fruits in a bid to beat the sweltering heat. Health professionals have warned the public against getting exposed to the sun especialy at noon.
