CAIRO--A heat wave, in which Egypt has been sweltering for days now, is peaking on Tuesday especially in Cairo and Upper Egypt, according to weather forecasters. Temepratures have surged to 41 centigrades. High temperatures along with high humidity are hitting the nation's northen coast, which has become a popular summer resort over recent year. The heat wave has resulted in a spike in electricity consumption, which has prompted the Government to urge the public to reduce operation of air-conditioners. At the same time, the Government has unveiled a plan to cut streetlights by half.
