Weather experts predict that temperatures will rise to 38°C today, and reach 39°C on Monday. The temperature for Tuesday is expected to drop to 36°C. The media advisor for the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), Ali Qutb, attributed the rise in temperature to a hot air mass arriving from the Arabian Peninsula. According to Qutb, the mass has subjected Lower Egypt to hot, humid weather, and Upper Egypt, Cairo, and South Sinai to high temperatures. Qutb stressed that humidity levels will remain the same due to the extending India monsoon, which passes over water surfaces before reaching northern Egypt, increasing the humidity in these areas. Mohamed Magdy Abdel Wahab, professor of meteorology at the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, said that the impact of humidity varies according to source areas. The air coming from southern deserts, such as in Libya, is dry. Air from the north, however, because it normally passes above water, is full of moisture, creating clouds that either develop into rain or remain fog. According to Abdel Wahab, humidity is at its peak early in the morning. Translated from the Arabic Edition.
