Cairo - Eight Egyptian police officers were killed in an attack in the south west of the country, Interior Ministry said in a statement. The attack took place around 8:15pm (18:15 GMT) in Naqb checkpoint, some 70km away from Kharga city. Two of the assailants were killed. According to eye witnesses, the assailants have raided a security post in a remote area in al-Wadi al-Jadeed Governorate in four wheel drive cars.
