A security alert has been declared in Kabbary district, West Alexandria, after the bombing of a security checkpoint by an explosive device on Friday. Ahmed Galal, a police officer, was injured in the explosion, according to Youm7. A security source told Youm7 that Civil Protection forces moved to the site of the incident immediately. The source said the explosive device had been triggered remotely by a cell phone attached to it. Eye witnesses said army helicopters had flown at a low level above Alexandria, apparently combing the area for assailants and to ensure the safety of citizens. Two other bombs exploded in Alexandria, one in Wardian, West Alexandria and the other in Agamy. There were no casualties. On Thursday night, Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis carried out several terrorist attacks against army positions, shelling various sites at the same time by mortars, it left 30 killed and 45 injured.
