Beni Suef Prosecution decided Sunday to put 18 persons in permanent custody for 4 days, over the sectarian incidents of Saft el-Kharsa village, al-Masry al-Youm reported. Suspects are facing accusations of disturbing the public peace, intervening in the personal freedoms, and damaging the private properties of Coptic residents, which the national security approved in its investigations over the incidents. Saft el-Kharsa village in Beni Suef Governorate witnessed sectarian violent incidents in the past few days, where Muslims attacked houses of Christian neighbors over a rumor that a Christian man is willing to build a Church at his house, which triggered the outrage of Muslim villagers. The violence acts included throwing rocks on the houses of Christians, setting fire to the car of the house owner, and terrorizing the Christian residents. Facebook users shared a footage shows the horror of a Christian family, mother and daughter, when they saw Muslim neighbors attacking their house by throwing rocks on their balcony.
