Head of European Parliament delegation, currently in a visit to Egypt, and Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee, Elmar Brok stressed Monday that death of Italian student will not affect relations with Egypt. Brok made these comments on the EU's relations with Egypt, in light of the death of Italian student, Giulio Regeni, who was found dead in Cairo, last month, during a press conference, which summed up his visit to Egypt, Al Bawaba News reported. The European parliament head pointed out that the killing of the Italian student is similar to other cases which occurred in different Middle East countries, as such, it will not affect the perception of European countries about the security situation in Egypt, which is highly stable. He revealed that there is extensive cooperation between Egypt and the EU in the fields of border control, illegal immigration and war on terrorism, as well as means to counter the spread of Islamic State (IS) in Libya.
