Egyptian Minister of Commerce and Industry, Tarek Qabil expected that the economic agreements signed with China aimed to enforce political and economic ties between China and Asian, African and European countries, Al-Bawaba News reported Friday. "China is exerting efforts to achieve a comprehensive renaissance through joint development with its international partners," Qabil added, signaling to China's will to exploit its accumulated cash surpluses in more investment projects abroad. He explained that China, as well, has formulated similar agreements with some countries along the new Silk Road as Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Qatar and Kuwait. Qabil pointed out that the agreement came in the general framework for bilateral cooperation between the two countries in a number of spheres including infrastructure, transport and communications.
