The Giza Criminal Court adjourned Thursday the trial of 31 defendants in the case publicly known as ‘Shiites Riots' to Jan. 9, Al Bawaba News reported. The defendants were accused of deliberated murder of Shiite clerk Hassan Shehata and three other Shiites in 2013 and inciting riots. Earlier in July, a court had sentenced 23 defendants to 14 years in jail while acquitted eight others before it decided to retry the defendants.
