Egyptian army killed Friday nine terrorists in a security crackdown over takfiri hotbeds in Sheikh Zuwaid and Rafah, North Sinai, sources told al-Bawaba News. The sources added 61 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were defused and 34 motorbikes with no plates were destroyed during the crackdown. Since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi, July 2013, a string of deadly attacks have been carried out against military and police personnel, mostly in the restive Sinai Peninsula.
